My Journey 💕

Hello everyone! I am Johnrelle Matthew Eser Jose. I am 21 years old and I live in San Jose City, Nueva Ecija in the Philippines. I am currently studying at Central Luzon State University in Science City of Munoz, Nueva Ecija. I am a representative of my university for the 8th batch of the SEA-Teacher Exchange Program.

On this day August 14,2019 at 6:55 in the morning I got my flight in NAIA Terminal 1. My professor Mr. Joel Torres accompanied to go to the airport. I am the only representative from my school that is why I need to travel in other country alone. It was my first time to travel abroad that is why I feel so nervous and happy at the same time. I did not book straight flight from Manila to Jakarta that is why I need to layover for about 3 hours in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia before arriving in Jakarta, Indonesia. I arrived in Soekarno Hatta Airport at 4 in the afternoon.
In Indonesia WhatsApp is their primary mobile application which they use for social media communication. I messaged the SEA Teacher Project coordinator in UHAMKA who is Pak Purnama and told him that I just arrived in Jakarta. He told me that he send students from UHAMKA who will pick me up in the airport and will accompany me going to UHAMKA. One of the students message me and introduced herself “Hi I am novita a student from UHAMKA can you send me your location in the airport so I can easily see you”. She pick me at the airport with Ragil and Bu Maya from UHAMKA. I am so happy and grateful because I finally meet my buddies, we take a first take a picture at the airport before going to UHAMKA.
We arrived in UHAMKA at around 7 in the evening and I finally met Pak Purnama and have been able to talk and introduced myself to him. He was happy to meet me and I feel the same as well. We also take some pictures before Pak Purnama bring me to boy’s dorm which they called it as “asrama”.
In asrama I meet their staffs and also the students living in the dorm which they call “santri”. It was my first time there but I feel so safe and happy. Even thoguh it was my first time to meet them they treat me already as their family whole heartedly. Everyone in asrama is so kind the staffs, the students and even their cook. It was so nice to meet Mr.Fuat, Mr.Alam, Mr.Bakhril and Mr. Marzuki they told me that they will be my family for one month and also told me to enjoy and feel free to ask anything. I introduced myself to the students and they felt so happy and excited. They asked me lot of questions which I enjoyed too.

I am just so happy and grateful that I have been given this opportunity to join a the SEA Teacher Program where I will be able to go abroad to learn new culture, practices and also meet people and have a new family from other nationality.

I am so amazed with indonesian people. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming, everyone want to talk to me and have some fun time with me specially students from the upper class and also the teachers. Since day one of my journey in indonesia I am just so happy and blessed because I was sent to a school and a community who will accept me and love me unconditionally. I was able to introduce my self in almost all of the class in MI PKP also in boys and girls dorm and outside the school.

I was able to teach song and dance in preschool, teach different lessons from the elementary classes like making ondel-ondel, singing jali-jali, making a windmill or kicir angin and so much more and off course to teach english vocabulary in senior and junior high school students at the dorms.

Mama Ismila who gave me 2 big package of milo, a batik dress and a lot of gifts from everyone in MI. I don’t look at the price or how gifts look like what I want to see is their effort and love for me. They loved me and now I became part of their big family in MI. They promise me that they will never ever forget me until they grow old. I am so so happy to hear that and I cry a lot because of their messages for me and all of the memories that I will leave in MI PKP Jakarta Islamic School. I am just so grateful and very blessed for everything that happens in me for this journey of me as a SEA Teacher. Congratulations and a job well done again SEAMEO!!!!!

Devoyage in Bogor

On this day September 8,2019 I am always happy waking up in the morning receiving greetings from my brothers in the dorm and having breakfast with them too in the dining room. Today I am going to have my last city tour with my co-SEA Teachers, Ragil and his family. I picked up in dorm at around 9:45 in the morning our destination is in Bogor City. Ragil told me that there is a place where we can see a miniature of some tourist spots from Europe, it makes me so excited because It was also my dream to travel to some European countries.

The place name is Devoyage in Bogor City. It takes some time to be there while on our way going to Bogor I decided to take some sleep first to have more energy walking and walking around the place. We arrived in Bogor at around 11 a.m. While preparing ourselves I already saw the tip of the mini eiffel tower inside Devoyage and it makes me more excited to go inside. We first fall in line to buy for a ticket so we can enter the Devoyage.

Inside the Devoyage was nice and beautiful. Everything is so lovely and colorful from the building structures, from the designs and even the flowers is so nice to see. We decided to take a lot of pictures in different spots inside the Devoyage. It was so fun walking around taking pictures and taking videos around the whole place. After a long walk and fun moments we decided to finish our tour in the devoyage. We took some photos individually and also some photos together. This tour was so fun and and meaningful for me. Not just because we go out and see some beautiful spots but also I was able to end my tour with my new family Ms.Jelyn, Ms.Christine and Ragil and his family.

After going out of the Devoyage Ragil’s family bring us to a mall in Bogor where we take our lunch. We eat on KFC which is my favorite fast food chain in Indonesia. Everything was so nice to see, Ms.Jelyn is so surprised because the chicken in KFC is so spicy she was sweating while eating and always say “it was so spicy “,”it was spicy”,’the chicken is spicy”. We take some rest first at the mall before going home. It was so early to go home so Papa decided to bring us to a park and have some road trips going around the Bogor. We saw a lot of good scenery around Bogor and we enjoyed taking some pictures of it too.

For all my tours I enjoyed it a lot but my last tour was just so memorable.I go out with one of my family in Indonesia together with my co-SEA Teachers from the Philippines. I am so so so happy and grateful for all my experiences in all my tours. Everything was so meaningful and so memorable for me. We decided to go back to PKP again after a long day tour. Ragil’s family bring us back to the dorms and I thank them a lot because they loved me and treat me as their family too. I give them a good greetings and a hug too so I can give back to them also. This memories were memories that I will cherish for a life time.

When I go back to dorm I walk straight to my room. I take shower and change clothes. After a long day I have my own time to remember everything that happened in my last tour. I am so so so happy but sad at the same time but I know it is part of my journey. I suddenly feel so sad and I cried a lot because I am so thankful on what in my stay here in indonesia but sad because I will go back to Philippines so soon and had to leave my new family in Indonesia.

After a long day and after everything that happened to me I never forget to thank our Lord God for everything He gave to me and to everyone around me and that is the end of my tour around Indonesia as a SEA-Teacher.

UHAMKA, TMII, and Lubang Buwaya

On September 7 I had my last week for city tour. I felt so happy but so sad too because it was my last tour. I do not actually know what to feel there is a mix of emotions inside of me but still I think I enjoyed it . Before going to our first destination Pak Purnama the SEAMEO coordinator from UHAMKA asked me, Ms.Jelyn and ms.Christine to attend an orientation seminar for the freshmen students of UHAMKA. We were able to meet other staffs, department heads and deans of the college.

We were surprised that Pak Purnama also invited 3 other filipinos from the SEATVET Program to also join the orientation. It was our first time to to meet them, we were so happy to meet each other and have a new friends from the Philippines. They were Ms.Jocelyn, Ms.Marianne and from La Union,Pangasinan. They were friendly and fun to be with so there is no such dull moments with them. What we did is just to have fun and enjoy our time together. One of the staff in UHAMKA also asked us to have a video greetings and stories about our experiences in Indonesia like the places, the people, the schools, the foods and other traditions in Indonesia specially in Jakarta.

After our activities from UHAMKA my buddy Ragil together with his family, Mama Lilis, Papa and his younger brother Rama accompany us to go for our city tour. Our first stop is in Taman Mini Indonesian Indah where they said that it is like a miniature of the whole Indonesia. I think they said that because you were be able to see places in indonesia in TMII but in a smaller way. We go first go to Sumatera Tribe where we see some houses the used to lived with in real life. We can also see some dress and artifacts they used for their daily lives. Inside the houses there were small stalls there where we can rent dresses and head dresses for us to look like an indonesians living in a sumatera. We took some photos together and and individually and also some videos too. After going to sumatera tribe we next decided to go to miniature of Bali,Indonesia. Everyone is excited to go in Bali place because we all know is one of the most beautiful and famous place in Indonesia and also the world. We were just amazed and happy to be in Bali’s miniature, the structures of houses and the spots inside is just so beautiful and colorful. It was a good experience being in a beautiful places in TMII. Even though it was not the actual place of Bali we were still happy and feel like we have been to real Bali too.

At around 4 p.m. decided to go to Lubang Buwaya which is not so far from Taman Mini. Ragil’s father wanted us to go there and we all agree because Ms.Jelyn and Ms.Christine wants to go there too. We arrived at Lubang buwaya at around 4:45 p.m. Before going inside we have some snacks first and after taking snacks we go together inside. What’s inside the Lubang Buwaya is the monument of the 7 heroes of Indonesia who fight for their sovereignty of Indonesia. We also able to see the command post and places where some indonesian fighters buried in. I and ragil also see mobile cars and used by military during the war. There are some actual clothes that they were used the war with bloods and it was preserved in a museum. It was just unfortunate that we did not able to go inside the museum because it was closed already.

At 6 in the evening we go back to PKP but before going to our dorms, Mama lilis bring us to a food store where we can eat a good nasi goreng or fried rice in indonesia. It taste so good and everyone was so satisfied and full after eating. After having a little time for rest, Papa bring us back to our dorms. We arrived at dorms at around 9 p.m. and I thank ragil and his family for accompanying me for my city tour. I am so very happy to finally meet ragil’s family and go for a tour with them. They told me that I am also part of their family now and I am so happy to hear that I feel so blessed to have them for my stay in indonesia.

After going inside my room I decided to take a shower, have some time to prepare my things for the tour in the next day and off course pray to God for guiding me and blessing me for the whole day.

Meeting a new friends

On this day September 05,2019 it was just a regular day going to school. We started our school activities on having a zumba for the school including students and teachers. It was a regular activity every thursday starting at 6:30 in the morning. I was so happy and always looking forward to have zumba every thursday because it relaxes my body and also an exercise for me, helping me to have a healthy body and mind.
Bu leli the chairwoman of the curriculum department in MI PKP called me and ask me to go to the teacher’s office in the afternoon and said that finally I will be able to meet the other filipinos who also sent by UHAMKA in PKP DKI Jakarta. The Chairman of the yayasan building call a meeting together with the SEA-Teacher Coordinator of UHAMKA Pak Purnama and the other teachers from SMA, TMS and MI also known as the Junior High, Senior High and Elementary Schools of PKP DKI Jakarta. The meeting was held in yayasan or library building of PKP.
I was able to to introduced myself to everyone and I am so grateful and happy to finally meet the school directors and off course my co-filipinos who also representatives of the country for the 8th batch of SEA Teacher Project. They were Ms.Christine Boncodin and Ms.Jelyn Maramag from Central Bicol State University of Agriculture. I was so happy to finally meet and see a filipino because I live and stay in PKP Jakarta for three weeks being the only filipino there.
For the next day September 06,2019 I spent my whole day in MI observing class 3A, 2C,6A and teach in class 6B and class 2A. For the class 2A I teach them about writing and reading verb and integration of Jakarta Culture and Environment. Today I was able to receive some gifts from my students and teachers in MI, like letters, foods and “batik” the traditional clothes of Indonesia. I am always happy going to MI PKP everyday because they treat me there as their family too and I am always grateful to be there.
At 4:30 pm I was able to meet Ms.Christine and Ms.Jelyn to finally talk about their experiences going in Indonesia and also my experiences staying in PKP DKI Jakarta. We meet at the park in the front of PKP. While talking to each other I ask them to walk around the school and take some pictures in other spots of PKP and also buildings and front gates of the schools. We finish chatting and walking around at around 6:30 in the evening and we decided to go back to our dorms and prepare for dinner time.
Before the night gets over I was able to have some good times with the santri or students living in the dorm playing badminton and after that we have some fun times inside the dorm.
As my duty and responsibility I did not forget to pray and thanks God for guiding me and blessing me for the whole day.

My second city tour !!

For my second tour we Ragil will bring me to Kota Tua. We go out of the dorm at about 10:00 a.m. in the morning we first used a grab going to a train station. We first used a grab car and then we used train going to Kota Tua. We go there just the two of us but when we arrived at Kota Tua Ragil told me that his friend will accompany us going around the museum and markets in Kota. We arrived there at around 3 p.m. so it was so late. We decided to take our lunch in KFC again at Kota Tua station. In Kota Tua there were lot of things and museum there.

For our first stop we decided to walk around and look for some stuffs in the stalls and market there. Lot of things I can buy there, like key chains, dress, foods and some souvenirs too. I was able to buy some clothes and key chains too for my friends and family in the Philippines. A lot of things I can see there at the center of the museum there is an open place there were people can pray and also can sing and dance or perform some traditional things in indonesia. After a long walk we decided to buy some drinks sand take some rest too. We go back to the bust station at about 6:30 in the evening and it was so traffic around Jakarta during that time because it is holiday. We arrived at the dorm at about 10:00 p.m. It was fun going to Kota Tua but it was very tiring too. I am happy to go out for a tour again on this weekend.

Ragil go back to their home using his motorcycle and I decided to go back to my room , take some shower and review my notes and lesson to teach for my monday and tuesday schedule. After doing a lot of things I decided to pray and thanks God for everything that happened for the whole day. I sleep at around 12:30 in the morning to take some rest and prepare myself for the next day

My first city tour !

On this day August 18,2019 I go out for my first city tour in Jakarta. Ragil, together with bu maya and two students from the dorm nauffal and faza accompany me to a tour. We meet at the dorm at around 10 a.m. Ragil pick a grab that we will used going on a bus station. I was so excited because it was my first tour and I am so happy because I was able to go there with the students I lived with in dorm and also my new friends ragil and bu maya. Before going to the bus station we decided to go to Alfa Mart one of the small stores in Indonesia and in the Philippines it is like a 7/11 store. We decided to buy some foods and drinks first, Ragil decide to pay for their foods and left the food and the drink I get. He asked me to pay for own food so I can practice talking in Indonesian language, he asked me that because he already teach me about the value of the money in indonesia which they called “rupiah” and also the word “berapa” which means “how much”. I am so nervous and excited to do that, so yes I pay for my food and was able to count rupiahs too. If I am not mistaken I pay “empat ribu tujuh ratus ” for my drink or 4700 rupiah.

After we buy some foods we go to a bus station and we wait until our bus arrived. It was my first time so I take some pictures at the station and laso inside the bus. Our first destination is in Monas. It was my first time riding on a bus in Indonesia and it was a priority to give the seat to elderly or person with disabilities so we stand up to give the seats and we remain standing until we arrived to our station. It was so tiring but I enjoyed it since it was my first time standing on a bus, and they called the bus as TransJakarta. We arrived at the station at around 11:30 a.m. and it was lunch time, so we decided to go to a mall where it in KFC. It was my first time eating in a KFC in Indonesia and It was “enak” or in english delicious but it was so spicy specially the sauce.

After taking lunch we take some rest first and the boys pray first before we go to Monas. We walk around until we arrived in Monas. I am so surprised because there are lot of people around and ragil told me because it was weekend and today is holiday. I enjoyed walking aroung Monas we take some pictures where Monas will see.. We decided to go under the Monas tower at the top of the Monas there is like a flame figure which is made up of gold at about 50 kilograms in weight. I was surprised when ragil told me that because it was a huge pure gold. Before going inside the Monas we had to buy ticket and it was unfortunate that we cannot go to the top of the tower because it was aready 3 p.m. and it was closed every 3 p.m. Wejust decide to go inside where there is a museum and there is a lot of miniatures about Indonesia. The life in Indonesia, what indonesia looks like, some events that happens from their past, how their houses looks like in the past, their first election, the colonization of portuguese to them and almost everything about their history is posted in the museum inside Monas. It was fun so fun and I learn a lot of things from their history specially on how they fight for their sovereignty against other countries just like the filipinos who also fight for our contry’s Independence.

For my first city tour I enjoyed it a lot. Going back to the station we used the free bus and we wait for it to came around Monas. But before going back to the dorms ragil bring us to a food store, where we can eat a good food which they called “nasi goreng” or fried rice. It was so “enak” or delicious in english but again it was spicy. After we eat we have some rest before going back to dorm. Ragil accompany us going back to the dorm and we thank him for accompanying us for the city tour.

I decided to take a shower change clothes and off course pray and thank God for guiding us for the whole day.

Teaching Demonstration

For my demonstration teaching I had to study and teach 2 lessons. The subject that is given to me is PLBJ. PLBJ is a subject about Jakarta Culture and Environment where english language is used as medium of instruction. Pak Alex assigned me to teach in grade 4. I had to teach classes 4A, 4B, 4C and 4D. For monday I will only teach class 4B while every tuesday I need to teach the other classes.
For my first lesson I will teach Present Continouos Verb with integration in singing the Jali-Jali song and different Indonesia’s culture and practices. I used two language for my medium of instruction which is English and Indonesian Language so students can better understand the lesson. I used dictionary and google translator in translating all the lessons. I read and practice every night to prepare myself speaking and reading indonesian language. I study about the do’s and don’ts in managing a classroom so everything will be alright. For my first teaching demonstration my students understand the lesson well while having fun at the same time. I used some games and songs from my country to catch the attention of my students and also as an example for my lesson. I ask Pak to bring a speaker too because I bring my laptop and I also download the Jali-Jali song. I teach and play the song to them. After we learn to sing the song I ask everyone to sing with me together with Pak Alex. Pak Alex told me that for first demo teaching I did great and it was good that I used different methods in teaching students.
For my second lesson I teach Instruction and daily activities which is integrated with the Ondel-Ondel. For this lesson I had to teach how to follow instructions in daily activities. For this lesson I also used 2 language as medium of instruction, since I already used indonesian language for my first demonstration it is now easier for me to talk to them in their language. Everyone is so excited for this lesson because aside from learning how to follow instructions in english language I also ask them to bring art materials and we will make an ondel-ondel one of the most famous thing in indonesia. In indonesia you can see some Ondel-Ondel around the street. Ondel-Ondel used to walk around the street in pair, a boy and a girl. The girl has the lighter face color and dress while the boy is the darker one. While making an ondel-ondel students was able to follow instruction on how to make an ondel-ondel so I was able to integrate the lesson I teach to them which is following instructions in english language. The students, I and Pak Alex enjoyed the second lesson so much. WE was able to make an ondel-ondel with fun and we also take pictures of the ondel-ondels we made.
For my over-all performance performance on both of my demo teaching Pak Alex that I did a great job. I was able to teach the lesson to students with a variety of methods and also with fun and enjoyment too. He told me that I did a job well done and to continue my good performance until I go back to the Philippines. Aside from giving the comments and suggestions for me, Pak also told me good things not just in teaching but also personally and I am so grateful for that. Pak is not just my cooperating teacher, Pak also became my father in MI PKP. He told me a lot of things and told me to always be happy. He also told me one important to me to eat a lot so I can have a bigger body physique and a healthy body too.

PKP DKI Jakarta Tour

On this day August 24,2019 the tour was cancelled because lot of roads were closed. I and ragil decided to walk around the PKP at around 3 in the afternoon. We first check the dorm since I stay in dorm I already know and familiarized my self on it. We walk around where we see and go first is in the lake we see the lake first because it was just beside the dorm. I saw a fisherman in the lake someone told me that there are lot of fishes at the lake. He also told us that I can go fishing at the lake if I want and it was for free. After taking some fresh air beside that lake we decided to go to that field. At the field we saw some students playing football and they told me that football is the most famous sport in Indonesia. Next stop is in yayasan building or the library we did not go inside because we do not want to have sometime reading books inside because our main goal is to familiarize me to the places in PKP. We also go to the front of PKP where there is a garden there and that is beautiful and beside the garden is their Mosque where students and teachers used to pray in.

Near in the Mosque were girls dormitory. Next to the girls dorm is SMA or the Senior High School Building for the full day class while students who stays in dorm did not attend full day classes while beside the SMA is SMP 2 where students study special education like specialization school also in SMP 1 which is near from the boys dorm where I used to lived in. Near the SMP 2 is the gym where sports events in happening, there where some scheduled games from outside the campus which they played in the gym inside PKP. After looking around SMA and SMP we go to MTS or school for Junior High School and it was smaller that the other school buildings. There were two canteen in the campus one is located beside the field and MTS and the other one is beside the mosque and the SMA building. At the back of the MTS is my cooperating school which is the MI PKP off course it was good in the MI PKP and I already familiarized myself since it was my cooperating school. The last one is the TK KB or the Preschool building in the preschool building everything is just so adorable. The building designs is really for preschooler lot of letters and number deigns on the wall, playing area and also toys and story book and coloring books inside the rooms.

It was a well spent day because finally I was able to go around the campus and familiarized myself in different building and structures around me. We decided to go back to dorm and was able to talk to the students and have some fun time too. After that ragil decided to go back home. I write some experiences I had for the day and take a bath after and prepare myself for dinner. For dinner I was able to eat together with the students and staffs at the dorm who I also treat as my brothers. We enjoy eating together. We ayam goreng, nasi, tempe, pisang, kerupuk and sotomil or in english fried chicken, rice, pea, banana, crackers and noodles.

After we eat I was able to teach them again english vocabulary and I also learn indonesian language. It was a whole fun of experience for this day and a very satisfying and happy day. Again before sleeping I never forget to thank God for everything that happened for the whole day.

For my first week in MI PKP from August 19-23 my mentor Pak Alex told me to observe all of his classes first so I can see how it look likes and what is happening in each class. After every class Pak Alex always give me some time to introduce myself and talk to the students. For my first week it was so fun meeting the students in each class talking to them and able to have some fun time with them specially in class 6A 6B and 6C. For the first week a lot of things already happen I was able to have a little brothers and sisters from the students specially in classes 6. For class 6A i have my students who became my brothers Ataya, Alana, Lucky, Adlian, Satrio and sisters like Caska, Fyantika, Kayla, Atika everyone in class. For 6B my brothers like Cheky, Davin, Arkhan, Rezvan, Zalfa and sisters like Gian, Bunga, Syafira and everyone in the class and also in class 6C my brother Malikan, and sisters like Gabri, Putri. Almost evryone in classes 6 wants me to be their older brother and their teacher too. I love seeing my students enjoy my time with them because it was one of my goal in my journey as a SEA Teacher to educate my students while having fun also. This was my weekly schedule in MI PKP.

Every monday we have our “UPACARA” or the flag raising ceremony at 6:30-8:00 in the morning in the center court of the school. All of the students and teachers are required to attend the ceremony. Everyone is wearing their white uniforms in attending the flag ceremony so I also used my white long sleeves every monday. After the ceremony students were going back to their respective classroom to study their regular classes. Every 9:30-10:00 a.m. everyone will be given a 30 minutes for break time and will go back to class at 10:00 a.m. Every 12:00 noon all classes will end so students will have a time to pray and to have their lunch too and will go back to class at 1:00 p.m. and all classes will end at 2:30 p.m.
For tuesday everyone will go to mosque for dhuha or morning prayer at 6:30-7:30 in the morning. After going to mosque everyone will go back to respective classroom for their regular classes. At 9:30-10:00 break time and at 12:00-1:00 students will be given a time to pray and have their lunch. Everyone will go back to regular class at 1 p.m. and all classes will end at 2:30 p.m.
For wednesday it was almost the same in tuesday but one thing that is different is that classes from grade 1 and 2 will end at 2 p.m. while for grades 3,4,5 and 6 will stay in school to join PRAMUKA or the camping class at 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. In that class they will learn some things to do for survival, like first aid and also how to make tents during campings.
For thursday I always enjoy this day because the whole school will have a zumba class at 6:30 until 8:00 in the morning at the open place in front of the Mosque. SEA-TEACHER BATCH 8

In this day 15th of August,2019 I woke up early to prepare myself and get ready for my first day in school. Early in the morning I take my breakfast together with Mr. Anies and Mr. Alam, we eat nasi goreng or fried rice, fried egg, tempe and also a coffee. For my first time eating indonesian food I don’t what to expect but when I finally tasted their food I think it’s good but it was so spicy hehehe.
After taking breakfast Mr. Alam and Mr. Fahril accompanied me to go to elementary school to meet my resource teacher. I feel so happy to finally see the school and meet teachers and students too. Mr. Alam and Mr. Fahril leave me in the school so I can have my own time in the school. In the front of hallway of the school I meet Pak Usdani the Head Chairman of the school MI PKP Jakarta Islamic School. I am happy because Pak Usdani know how to communicate in english that is why he easily understand me. I introduced myself by saying my name, my age, where I came from and what school I am from. Together with Pak Usdani we go to the faculty room and I meet some of the teachers of MI PKP. Pak Rusdani leave me in the faculty room for a while and said that he will just call the teacher who will be my resource teacher. I finally meet Pak Alex Akyas my cooperating teacher/mentor for my whole stay in MI PKP. He was very kind and friendly and told me to be friendly too to others. He ask me to introduce myself to other teachers in the teacher’s room and greet them a good morning. Everyone is happy and so nice to me, I think they were so happy to see a new face in the school not only new face but also a new friend from other country.

For my first day Pak Akyas ask me if I am ready to start my journey in MI PKP and without any hesitaion I said yes. He ask me to accompany him to his classes for the day. We go first in class 3A where I was able to observe the class. After Pak Alex done teaching the lesson, he ask me to introduced myself to students. After I came in front of the class everyone was just so excited and so happy to see and hear me talking to them. They ask me a lot of questions and one thing surprised them is my nationality. I told them that I am a Filipino everyone was shocked, they did not know that I am a Filipino because I introduced myself in the language of Indonesia. I was able to go and observe in class 2A and class 2B also where I introduced myself too. For my first day in school everything was so fun and I enjoyed it so much.

After I go back to the dorm I take some rest first and when I go out of my room the Ustad or staff of the dorm ask me too eat dinner together with students. After we take dinner they ask me to introduced myself and they ask me lot of questions about myself, my school and my country too. Talking to them is just so fun, I am an only child so I feel like I have a lot of brothers now. They also told me that we can be brothers and we are now a family. I also teach them English vocabulary that night and I used to teach them every night.
